This Nakshi Kantha is from East Bengal (Bangladesh) Hand sewn layers of recycled sari cloth were used, with exceptional embroidered motifs and patterned embroidery, these represent aspects of daily life and often protection. This smaller quilt would have been made for a baby or child. In very good condition for its age, this is a unique textile to treasure.
Our vintage Kantha quilts have stood the test of time, we encourage you to enjoy them. Machine washable at 30-40 degrees. Dry flat if possible or can be given extra bounce in a tumble dryer.
